...we’ve now stress-tested and made reality out of our microloan idea. The big question we asked us: will the borrowers, twenty-five poor women be able to stick to the repayment plan after starting up some sort of business? The answer: Yes! All five groups, with five people in each group managed to fulfill their part of the agreement. We’re so happy and proud to see it succeed even though all the criticism from people who were telling us it wouldn’t work in a country like Mozambique. You defied poverty and made the impossible possible. You overcame your challenging circumstances and managed to grow. Even in a time of a pandemic, when others had to shut down their businesses, you managed to start something new.
Ni är värda mycket mer förtroende och vi vill från Sverige gärna växa med er. Den plan vi följer innebär att vi startar 2 nya grupper i oktober, 2 nya grupper i november, 2 nya grupper i januari. De fem första grupperna som redan visat sig vara värda allt förtroende kommer att i januari få möjlighet till ytterligare lån för expansion om de fortsätter som de börjat.Utmaningen till oss finns kvar, hur snabbt och länge kan vi vara med på resan till självförsörjande för kvinnor i Moçambique utifrån våra ekonomiska förutsättningar.
